If there were no fashion designers, what would you wear? They design the dresses, jeans, t-shirts, tank tops, and all the other clothing you wear. Personally, my favorite designer item is jeans. There are so many different types of jeans to choose from, it never gets old. There is different pocket styles, different colors and styles of stitching, different washes, different hems, different buttons, and different fits. Some jeans are stretchy, and others.. not so much. My favorite part about jeans are the pockets. I love pockets with a design on them. It makes the jeans look less plain. The worst part about jeans is when they drag on the floor. When they drag they create a huge hole in the heel and then your jeans look like trash. It's the one thing I hate the most. Then when you go to wear your favorite jeans with heels, there is a huge hole in them!

Really, there is no bad part about fashion. You just have to find the right style for your style and body type. Also, matching is a key thing. If you don't match, don't leave the house because it most likely doesn't look good. A lot of people make that mistake, and some people can pull it off better than others. But I don't recommend it. If your not sure about how well you look, ask someone. But make sure it's someone with a good sense of fashion, or else you really may not look that great. :)

One of the most tastefully fashioned shows on television is Gossip Girl. I always admire their unique sense of style. One thing that's good about watching shows like this is that I get ideas on new items to design, it's the same as looking through a good magazine such as Vogue or Teen Vogue.

One show that's not up there on their fashion ratings is a show like Yes, Dear. When watching this show you don't really pay attention to what they're wearing as much as the script, because there's not a lot of fashion sense. Where Gossip Girl has catchy clothes, and script. Now, if you watched television for fashion, Gossip Girl is a show everyone would be watching! At least everyone with a little bit of style.

This is a great example of a fashion don't! When I see people doing things like this all I can do is wonder what they were thinking when they woke up that morning and dressed themselves like this. And its funny because anyone will do it, it doesn't matter rich or poor. It just depends on the persons sense of style. Obviously when people dress like that they don't have any sense of style, or maybe they just didn't feel like being in touch with it that day. All I know is that I would NeVeR be seen wearing anything like that! I would be so embarrassed, although people don't really care what other people wear. I just couldn't do that to myself.

Fabric Search

This past weekend my mom and I were at Joann's looking for fabric so that I could make some curtains. I had so much fun picking out fabrics, I'm looking forward to going back this weekend for more! They have so many different fabrics to choose from, its crazy! The only down side is that it can get a little pricey! You have to be careful not to get carried away, or else your going to get a little surprised at check-out. Just to be safe, make sure you know the price of the fabric before you go to pay for it.. That should take care of any unwanted surprises.

My Reasoning.

I chose the fashion field because its something I find joy in. I am very creative, and love to design new things. I get some ideas from already existing items, but I also have my own ideas. Looking through magazines is a great way to find ideas, and gives you an idea of what the latest fashion is and what's to come. Like I said before, I'm not the best at drawing, but I don't let that slow me down because its something that I'll learn as I go on.

Why fashion?

Why is fashion a field you would want to go into?

Its fun, you can make it your own, and create whatever you want.
If your tired of not finding "your style" of clothing, or simply want to make the fashion trends better, this could be a good field for you.
I enjoy fashion design because I get to create whatever I want, and make things my own. I like to look at things and find what I can do to make it a better piece of clothing. For me, the hardest part is putting my ideas on paper becasue im not that great at drawing, but when I go to school in a month and a half ill take classes to get better at it.
Don't worry about not being good something, because they can/will teach you.. thats why you go to school.

They have campuses in OC (irvine), San Fran, LA, and San Diego. If these locations are close to you, and sound like something you may be interested in, you should look into it!
They have 16 different majors, from fashion design/interior design to multi media, so im sure you can find the perfect major!
